CVA High Pressure & Non-Standard Ammunition Compatibility

CVA High Pressure & Non-Standard Ammunition Compatibility

Posted by CVA on Oct 28th 2026

CVA is aware that ammunition manufacturers periodically introduce new cartridges and case technologies designed to operate at chamber pressures exceeding the standards established by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI) for a given caliber (e.g. Federal Premium 6.5 Creedmoor +Peak cartridge). Because these cartridge pressures haven't been evaluated under SAAMI's standard development process, ammunition operating outside SAAMI pressure standards for its caliber should not be used in any CVA rifle unless CVA formally confirms compatibility for that model.

  • STRICT PROHIBITION: The use of Peak Alloy ammunition and any other high-pressure ammunitions are STRICTLY PROHIBITED in ALL CVA BREAK-ACTION firearms, including but not limited to, the Scout, Hunter, and Apex models. This ammunition is NOT APPROVED NOR SAFE for use in these platforms, and use may result in firearm damage, malfunction, and will void the product warranty.

Future updates on approved cartridge offerings and the approved max pressure list per model, please visit the CVA Pressure Table or contact our customer service team.

Dealers and distributors are asked to share this notice with customers at the point of sale and to refrain from representing any CVA rifle as compatible with Federal +Peak ammunition until further notice.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and your continued trust in CVA products. If you have any questions regarding ammunition compatibility or firearm safety, please contact our customer service team.
